The goal of this project was to create a seamless, user-friendly digital experience for Pascualenia restaurant across mobile and web platforms.
Pascualenia is a Filipino-owned family restaurant that celebrates tradition and togetherness through food. The name, Pascualenia, pays tribute to my grandparents and honors the Filipino culture of salu-salo (shared meals), promoting meaningful family connections over delicious Filipino cuisine.
As a UI/UX designer, I created a visually appealing and user-friendly website that reflects the restaurant's values of cultural heritage and warm hospitality. This included designing a seamless interface for easy navigation and crafting a cohesive visual identity with custom graphics inspired by the family-centered brand.
Design Process
Logo and Icon Design
For the logo, I started with hand-drawn sketches and refined them based on feedback to ensure it represented the restaurant’s brand identity. For the icons, I developed concepts using a morphological matrix to explore variations and establish a consistent visual identity.
Mood Board
I created a mood board to define the colors, fonts, style, and overall visual tone for the project. This ensured a cohesive and visually engaging brand identity.
Paper Prototyping and Low-Fidelity Wireframes
I designed paper prototypes and low-fidelity wireframes to plan the website layout and examine user flow. Usability testing was also conducted to identify improvements, and findings were documented to guide me for design adjustments. I also gathered feedback from peers and my mentor to refine the design further.
High-Fidelity Design
Using feedback and usability test results, I developed a polished, responsive website for both desktop and mobile. The final design featured a cohesive brand identity, engaging visuals that reflect the restaurant’s brand identity, and intuitive navigation for users.
Final Adjustments
I made some final adjustments and through this process, I ensured the website captures the heart of Pascualenia and delivers a meaningful experience to its audience.
